Energy Efficiency Financing Programme To review the Indian energy efficiency market in public buildings, infrastructure and commercial buildings. To identify ideas for KfW EE financing programs development in the targeted sectors. KfW has initiated a study which aims to analyse various approaches towards energy efficiency programmes in buildings in Asia and to give a broad view on already existing programmes and policies and on how far they are already implemented. The study also aims to assess how applicable KfW’s existing programmes are in selected countries and identify possible partner institutions and specific programmes/measures suitable for financing within the German Financial Cooperation.

India Entry Strategy for Solar module manufacturing
Siliken is a large vertically integrated chemical conglomerate from Spain. Siliken makes Polysilicon, wafers and modules based on multicrystalline silicon technology. Siliken was looking to enter the India Solar PV market through a module manufacturing facility and had engaged the professional services of SSAEL to road map the strategy through a desk study followed by consultations with Gujarat and Rajasthan governments to obtain incentives for setting up the project. SSAEL had identified 8 potential states in India for the study and shortlisted 2 states which were most interested for setting up the module manufacturing facility. SSAEL compiled a detailed report laying out the execution strategy and started working with the govt. to obtain various incentives for setting up the project in the selected state. The project phase 2 which covered project management services to setup the module manufacturing plant was put on hold due to the global economic crisis(2011)

PowerMax desired to understand the Indian electrical utilities market, type of electrical meters currently being used and their number in domestic, commercial and industrial segment from secondary research. ENERGY SAVINGS FEASIBILITY STUDY – MCDONALDS
This project was commissioned under the sponsor ship of USAID’s ECO Project.Electric power was the major energy used by the complex. The power supply to the outlets was by Delhi Vidyut Board and Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board (UPSEB). The annual electricity bills of the outlets were about Rs 10.96 million.
“The study has identified measures to save 31.81 lakhs per year after an initial investment of 34,57 lakhs. The findings of the study have been under implementation over the past 6 months and we have implemented most of the energy efficiency measures that do not involve any investment. We are currently implementing the measures involving investments.”
